Performance Evaluation of a Pregnancy Prevention Awareness Enhancement Package for Lower Secondary School Students

This research aimed to: (1) assessing the efficiency of the process (E1) of the enhancement package for lower secondary school students and (2) evaluating the efficiency of the outcomes (E2) associated with its use for lower secondary school students. The research instruments were the quality assessment form for the enhancement package and the awareness measurement form of pregnancy prevention among lower secondary school students. The sample group used in this research was 16 lower secondary school students selected by random sampling and 3 experts chosen by purposive sampling. The statistics used in the analysis were basic statistics and the dependent t-test. The results revealed that the efficiency ratings of the enhancement package were 87.85/92.01, which was in accordance with the specified criteria. This indicated a significant increase in pregnancy prevention awareness among the students after using the enhancement package. The results of the evaluation of teaching quality were at a very good level (x̅ =33, S.D.=0.38). The results of the “Digital Age Teen Guide to sexual Awareness” manual also indicated a good level (x̅ =4.01, S.D.=0.49). The results of the comparison of academic achievement before and after using the enhancement package of lower secondary school students were statistically significant at the .05 level.
