Lessons Learned the Value Chain from Rice Production System on a Large Agricultural Plot Scheme at Ban Non-Krasang, Krabueng Yai Sub-District, Pimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract

This qualitative research aimed to lessons learned the value chain from the rice production system on a large agricultural plot scheme at Ban Non-Krasang, Krabueng Yai sub-district, Pimai district Nakhon Ratchasima province. The main informants are managerial, board, and members of rice large plot scheme total of 10 persons. This group of farmers has been involved in this project since the beginning and has potential in the management process, which is good for the lesson learned model for another large agricultural plot scheme group to learn and adapt for their group. The data collected by the focus group, brainstorming, and stage for return information to participants. Data analyzed by content analysis and analytic induction. The data acquired quality check by a triangulation technique on data, investigator, and methodological. The results found that the rice large plot scheme's value chain included five main activities: inbound logistics, operation, outbound logistics, marketing & sales, and servicing. The four support activities are infrastructure, human resource management, product & technology development, and procurement. The important value of group production on rice large plot scheme was cost reduction, increasing productivity, improving quality, connecting to the market, managing the group, and receiving new knowledge. The rice large plot scheme's key success factors were all parties' participation to jointly think, plan, act, monitor, evaluate, and receive mutual benefits.
