Innovation Development for Agricultural Products Value Adding in Buasalee Community Amphoe Maelao Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

This research focuses on innovation development for agricultural product value adding in Buasalee Community, Amphoe Mae Lao, Chiang Rai Province. The purposes of this research are to deliver an appropriate technology for the community and to encourage the participation of the community in order to select the potential agricultural products. During survey of community enterprises, the sample of potential agricultural products, which is banana crisps production, was chosen. This banana crisps production had some difficulties of storage method and period of distribution. The researchers therefore developed the innovation and suitable technology, which is banana crisps oven, in order to fix the problem. The capacity of this oven is 20 kilograms with hot air usage and temperature control at 70 degree Celsius. Using this oven provides better taste of banana crisps and extends preservation period. In the meantime, using group seminar of community enterprise effectively gives greater participation and awareness of product development. Consequently, a total of 22 community enterprises is divided into 5 groups which are agriculture, food processing, herbs, textiles and handicraft. Moreover, all community enterprises agree to use common branding for all products and packaging in order to generate the identity of products from Buasalee Community, Amphoe Mae Lao, Chiang Rai Province
