Satisfaction of employers and students regarding teaching and learning in the program of the International College Establishment Project, Dhonburi Rajabhat University

Abstract

The objectives of the study are to 1) examine the employment situation of graduates within a year of their graduation, 2) look at the level of satisfaction of their employers regarding their performance, and 3) explore levels of satisfaction of both graduates and current students with teaching and learning in the international program of the International College Establishment Project, Dhonburi Rajabhat University. Data were collected using five scale rating questionnaires from six employers, 7 graduates (out of 8) and 4 current students (11 students in total). The findings show the following. 1) Out of seven graduates, six already have jobs and one is pursuing a masters degree. 2) The employers are satisfied with the graduates’ performance at a high level (x̄ = 4.31, 85.83%). They consider the graduates’ morality and ethics to be the highest level (x̄ = 4.49, 89.99%). 3) As for the satisfaction with teaching and learning, the average score of the eight aspects is at a high level (x̄ = 4.09, 81.81%). They are as follow: giving consultation (x̄ = 4.63, 92.72%), student skill levels increasing throughout the learning process (x̄ = 4.09, 81.81%), teaching and learning (x̄ = 3.96, 79.44%), curriculum (x̄ = 3.91, 78.31%), instructors (x̄ = 3.88, 77.57%), student recruitment process (x̄ = 3.82, 76.36%), teaching and learning support (x̄ = 3.79, 75.84%) and measurement and evaluation (x̄ = 3.67, 73.33%). The data obtained from this research will be useful for improving teaching and learning and developing the Business English curriculum.
