The Administrative Skills of School Administrators of Sarasas Affiliated Schools under the Office of the Samut Prakan Education Area, Samut Prakan Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: study the administrative skills of school administrators of Sarasas Affiliated Schools in the opinion of the administrators under the Office of Samut Prakan Education Area, Samut Prakan Province, and compare the administrative skills of school administrators of Sarasas Affiliated Schools under the Office Samut Prakan Education Area, Samut Prakan Province classified by school size. The research sample was 196 school administrators selected by simple random sampling method in Sarasas Affiliated Schools under the Office of Samut Prakan Education Area, Samut Prakan Province. The research instrument was a questionnaire with the reliability of .96. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean and standard deviation. The statistics for testing mean difference were one-way analyzed of variance. In case of significant difference, Scheffe method was used to test the pair difference. The research results revealed that: 1) as a whole the administrative skills of school administrators in the opinion of the administrators of Sarasas Affiliated Schools under the Office of Samut Prakan Education Area, Samut Prakan Province were at a high level. When considered by aspects, it was found that the average administrative skills from high to low level were conceptual skills, human relation skills and technical skills, 2) the comparison of administrative skills of school administrators in the opinion of the administrators of Sarasas Affiliated Schools under the Office of Samut Prakan Education Area, Samut Prakan Province classified by school size as a whole was not different. When considered by aspects it was found that the technical skills of small schools and extra large schools were different at .05 level of significance. The human skills and conceptual skills of school administrators were not different.
