Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper aims to explain the Organization Development Intervention and Tools in a digital economy era in relation to the High Performance Organization (HPO) by presenting the economic and social environment changes in respect to an ever changing economic paradigm. The changes are created through the organization's planned changes and implemented through the OD. This paper provides concepts and strategies for OD Intervention in order to be considered a high performance organization that has a flexible structure, adaptability, and the capability for change in order to comply with internal and external environment variables that are in a constant dynamic flux. One aspect of organizational intervention is Teamwork. Teamwork is the OD on a group level that creates group dynamics by using team building and team development to generate team learning. Team Learning is then used as an organization’s mechanism for shaping and planning changes by collecting and analyzing data. A process of evaluation and follow-up with intervention and adjustment is included. Finally, Team Learning leads to the Knowledge Management Team (KM Team) by generating a new organization culture which can be supported by the new technology and communication tools available in a digital economy era supporting the organization to become a HPO. The new technologies that can be used to support teamwork are categorized into three types; a) Communication Technology b) Collaboration Technology and c) Knowledge Storage and Dissemination Technology. This paper provides a way to develop an organization that operates at high performance while adjusting through flexibility and adaptability to the dynamic changes occurring within a Digital Economy.
