Campaign Sign: Speech Acts and Discourse of Representative Candidates in Pattani Province

Abstract
The campaign signs of the candidates in Pattani Province use local language together with religious advertisements, so the area is unique. The purpose of this study was to study the illocutionary act and discourse of representative candidates in the year 2019 of Pattani province. Using qualitative data collection methods from the campaign sign And related documents From February 15, 2019 to March 22, 2019, analyze data with content analysis technique
The research found that candidates for election There is a wide variety of use in the campaign signs. The most common verbal action is commissives. 22 words. Followed by assertive 21 words. directives 15 words. The least is declaration 1 words. All the words that were analyzed in 59 words. The bundle of karma has the highest frequency of use, reflecting that the primary intention of candidates for election is to show that they will do something for future listeners and respond to people. The language will be distinctive and attract attention to the audience. The interpretation of the language is related to the social context of politics at that time.
