Abstract
The purposes of this research were to study the learning styles of undergraduate students in accounting, to compare the learning styles of the students in terms of genders, years of study and current grades, and to provide suggestions for improving the curriculum to suit the students’ learning style. The findings revealed that most students have a collaborative learning style. The demographic characteristics of the students were compared with each type of the learning styles. The results were that different genders and different years of study affected the independent, Avoidant and Competitive styles. Also, different current GPAX significantly affected the Avoidant style. The participants suggested that teamwork activities, where lecturers guide the ways to solve problems, should be encouraged. Various learning activities should also be applied to create a good atmosphere of learning. The results of this study contributed to an understanding of the learning style of the current a counting students which could be applied to develop and improve the undergraduate accounting curriculum. Also, the results were conducive to the preparation of students in the labor markets.
