The STUDY OF BEHAVIOR TO CLASSIFY FOR ELECTRONIC WASTE IN MUANG DISTRICT NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE

ABSTRACT
This research aimed to study people’s behavior in the households on how to classify electronic waste in Muang district, Nakhon Pathom province and factors affected the behavior of households in relation to classify the electronic waste in Muang district, Nakhon Pathom province. The researcher employed quantitative research methodology to collect data from representatives of each household who are over 18 years of age. As a result, there were 388 households. The researcher used Statiscal Package for Social Sciences (SPSS program) in order to find percentage, average, frequency, and standard deviation. The findings were analyzed to compare the average of two research samplings (independently). Furthermore, t-test was used to analyze the variance of one-way ANOVA.
The research results were as follows:
- The people’s behavior in classify electronic waste in Muang district, Nakhon Pathom province was quite in high levels. The statistical significance of people in order to classify the e-waste was 0.001 such as genders, numbers of electronic devices, the use of electronic devices, knowledge from receiving the information (e-waste). There were some factors affected people’s behavior to classify the e-waste and it had 0.05 of statistical significance such as occupation and the need of electronic devices.
- The problems and comments from people in order to classify
the electronic waste were that people did not understand of how to manage
the electronic waste and they did not have suitable container to keep electronic waste.
Moreover, it took time to classify and keep electronic waste. Furthermore, there was no area to keep electronic waste in the community so that buying new electronic devices was easier than fixing the old ones. In addition, it was more difficult to eliminate the electronic waste and it would cause pollution.
3. People in the community suggested that there should be a campaign which helped encourage people to classify the electronic waste. Moreover, there should be more bins for each type of waste. An organization or people who were
the experts in this area should give knowledge and comments in order to encourage people to continue classify electronic waste.
