Safety Management in Private Kindergarten Schools in Pathumthani Province

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate: 1) Safety management practices in schools. 2) Opinions on school safety management in private kindergarten schools in Pathumthani Province. Population used in this study was 100 management personnel’s: namely, school director, deputy school director, kindergarten teacher head, nursing department head and school building and facility head from 20 schools. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The return rate of questionnaire was 100 percent. The data were analyzed using percentage, means, and standard deviation.
The results of the research concerning school safety management in private kindergarten schools in Pathumthani Province were described in each aspect as follow.: 1) School safety group development, most schools assigned the responsibility to School Building Department Head., 2) Problems and injury incident search, most schools used note taking to report injury incidents detected by weekly school environment observation., 3) Six school safety determinations. Most schools created safety system on school environmental infrastructure in the classroom. For student protection, safety atmosphere was created in-class and environment. For student transportation between home and school, security system and responsibility assignment were implemented. There were activities to promote school safety using public relations. For school safety curriculum, there were meetings among teachers, school board committees and those involved to discuss about curriculum construction. For school emergency plan, most schools had forwarding system plan, to transfer students to the hospital nearby. 4) Continued school safety policies, plan and activities, it was found that most schools had set their regulations for school field and playground use. The opinions on kindergarten school safety management were found to be agreeable at high level in all aspects.
