Concept and Measures of Treatment for Elderly Inmates in Thai Corrections

Abstract

This article aims to explain the concepts and measures of treatment for elderly inmates in Thailand. The treatment for elderly inmates is the responsibility of Department of Corrections which is the essential organization for offender treatment and rehabilitation including elderly inmates. This article is exploratory study in the current elderly inmate population and their characteristics which is compared with other countries. Also, the current concepts and measures for elderly inmate treatment, the analysis of problems and needs by elderly inmate including the suggestions for improving concepts and measures of treatment is explained in this article.
