Abstract
This Qualitative research aimed to investigate method of Music Instruction for Ear training in Graduate Study in 5 sides 1) Defining teaching objective 2) Teaching method 3) Teaching content 4) Learning Activities 5) Evaluation by studying the information from the Semi-Structured Interview and Non-Participant Observation from 3 Instructor of Ear training, 3 Students representative and 1 Course leader of Ear training.
The results in 5 sides showed that 1) Defining teaching objective, The objective in the course description is determined by the course leader 2 Instructors focus on teaching Harmony and 1 Instructor focus on all content. 2) Teaching method, focus on the Self-practice and use intergrated teaching method, namely Lecture, Demonstration and Practice. 3) Teaching content, the content is according to the course description and always in the same direction. There are additional appointments with students on topics that students are interested in or not performing well. 4) Learning Activities, the steps and activities depend on each Instructor and always have piano as a teaching media. 5) Evaluation, the Evaluation should be divided into section clearly and evaluated while studying and after the course. By interviewing Instructor and students, they have suggested that should set clear objectives for Instructors to follow correctly and in the same direction and always should have a meeting together and use intergrated teaching method, namely Lecture, Demonstration and Practice. Should arrange extra time on topics that students are interested or not performing well. Instructor always have piano as a teaching media and use a Technology to be a teaching media too. Instructor should be assignments for students to practice and the evaluation should clearly divide the scores.
