THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING ACTIVITIES TO ENHANCE HEALTH LITERACY OF ELDERLY OF PRIVATE BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS

The purpose of this research aims to 1) study the conditions, needs and problems of learning about Health Literacy among elderly of private business organizations 2) Developing learning activities to promote knowledge of Health Literacy amongst the elderly within private business organizations and 3) Studying the results of these Health Literacy learning activities amongst the elderly within private business organizations. The sample groups in this study is
1) the elderly within private business organizations consisted of 219 persons by questionnaire and 2) interviewing Executives and elderly who work in organizations for the elderly such as Benjamit Packaging Company Limited. From the experimental group, there were 14 elderly people from private business organizations.
Research findings were as follows: The overall of Health Literacy was at a high level. (x = 3.60, S.D. = 0.33) With regard to the need for learning activities, knowledge about Health Literacy amongst the elderly of private business organizations consists of 5 areas: 1) Culture skills, lifestyle patterns, and health risk behavior. 2) Health care and prophylactic. 3) Be aware of media and use of technology 4) Disease relations between families that support health care and 5) decision-making regarding correct health practices. Good activity: 5 ways to be healthy, consisting of 1) Good Behavior activities 2) Good care activities 3) Good technology activities
4) Good relationship activities and 5) Good self-reliance activities. The results showed that the participants in the activity group had higher test scores after participation. Statistically significant activities with levels of 0.05 and with a satisfactory level of participation in activities high level (x = 3.92, S.D.0.37)
