DIRECTING AND CREATING ONLINE DRAMA FROM THE CONCEPT OF COMMUNITY THEATRE TO COMMUNICATE AND CREATE NEW AWARENESS ABOUT COMMUNITY IDENTITY: A CASE STUDY OF THE SPIRIT OF SMART KKU THE MINI-SERIES

The research paper presents the methods and processes of directing and creating online drama by applying the concept of community theatre as a base for thinking together with the principles of film directing. Its main objective is present and communicates the new identity of Khon Kaen University to an audience in the community. The research operation is divided into 3 processes. These are 1. Designing the director's ideas for drama production 2. Directing and creating dramas 3. Exhibiting and evaluating the value of theatrical work. The results of the research revealed that 1. There were 3 episodes of the online drama, Spirit of Smart KKU the total length is 1 hour and 27 minutes. It can be used to present and create an understanding of the new community identity that reflects the concept "Dedicated to the community and society” 2. Watching online drama between September 24-25, 2021 totaled 26,400 times, representing an average of 51.82 percent of the population in the community. Theatrical works can communicate the story’s idea to an audience. 3. People in the community have more love and pride in their identity and being at Khon Kaen University. As a result of presenting stories that reflect memories and are related to area and place, the way life of the community as well as stories of characters that reflect the truth of individuals and events in the community. 4. Participants have the opportunity to get experience closely in the community area from the filming process so that get a good feeling and pride in their community identity. It is also incubated by art practitioners - new generation artists and increases knowledge and experience from participating in drama creation work in the research project as well.
