Study of Student Affairs Administration Based on the Four Brahmavihras Principles of Administrators in Opportunity-Expansion Schools Under Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: (1) to study the current conditions of student affairs administration of administrators in opportunity-expansion schools under the Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; and (2) to explore guidelines for student affairs administration based on the Four Brahmavihras principles among administrators under the Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. This study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining sequential survey research and qualitative research. The sample group consisted of 258 participants, including school administrators, deputy administrators, heads of work units, and teachers. The statistics used included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. For the qualitative part, data were collected through interviews with nine key informants who were selected purposively to examine consistency and validity.
The research results were as follows:
1. Student affairs administration based on the Four Brahmavihras principles showed that the aspect with the highest mean score was the student support and 
assistance system, followed by community relations activities, student council affairs, and administration and discipline, respectively.
2. Guidelines for student affairs administration based on the Four Brahmavihras principles should include (1) systematically managing a transparent student support system grounded in loving-kindness and equanimity while encouraging teachers and staff to continuously and sincerely support and monitor students, (2) promoting student leadership, teamwork, and impartial self-administration of activities to develop essential skills and democratic values, (3) providing fair opportunities for all stakeholders to participate in problem-solving with an emphasis on positive behavior modification rather than punishment, and (4) building cooperative networks between schools and communities with loving-kindness and compassion by promoting socially beneficial activities such as career development, environmental conservation, and assistance for the underprivileged to cultivate morality and public-mindedness among students.
