The Essentials and Presentation Strategies in the Narrative “Chittanakhon”

Abstract

The research on the contents and strategies for presenting the Dhamma novel Chittanakorn by Somdet Phra Yansangwon Somdet Phra Sangharaja Sakon Maha Sanghaparinayok aims to analytically study the essence of the Dhamma novel, Chittanakorn, to analyze the strategies for presenting the Chittanakorn Dhamma novel, and to study ways to apply knowledge for developing Thai language teaching and learning, as well as promoting Buddhist morality and ethics.
The research results found that the content that appeared contained Buddhist content, social and political content, and cultural content. Presentation strategies appear to be found in 1) Story elements, including story title strategies, opening strategies, story progression strategies, closing strategies, and character creation strategies. 2) Language style, including the use of words, the use of figurative language, and the use of literary style. Guidelines for knowledge application for the development of Thai 
language teaching and promotion of Buddhist morality and ethics using an evaluation form by 3 experts found that the results of the knowledge application evaluation from the analysis of “the essence of the Dhamma Niti, Chittanakorn” had a total average () of 4.63, the quality level of knowledge application from the analysis was at a very good level, and the results of the knowledge application evaluation from the analysis of “the presentation strategies in the Dhamma Niti, Chittanakorn” had a total average () of 4.46, the quality level of knowledge application from the analysis was at a very good level.
