Abstract

                พระพุทธศาสนาถือว่า ธรรมหรือความจริง เป็นสิ่งที่มีคุณภาพหรือคุณสมบัติ เพราะความจริงและคุณสมบัติของความจริง ที่ปรากฏออกมาเป็นลักษณะของความจริง เรียกว่า ความงามของธรรม ก็คือคุณค่าในด้านต่างๆ ที่ทำให้ชีวิตมีกิเลสและทุกข์น้อยลง เรียกว่า “ความดี” พระพุทธศาสนากล่าวถึงความงามของสตรีใน 2 มิติ คือ ความงามในทางโลกหรือความงามทางวัตถุ ที่ถือว่าเป็นผลของการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์ต่อกัน ระหว่างคุณภาพหรือคุณสมบัติของวัตถุกับกิเลส คือความยินดีพอใจ ซึ่งมีอยู่ในจิตใจ หรือในสันดานของคนแต่ละคน จึงมีความรู้สึกเรื่องความงามของวัตถุแตกต่างกันไป ตามอิทธิพลของกิเลสของแต่ละคน และความงามในทางธรรม ความงามที่เป็นลักษณะของธรรมหรือความจริง อันเป็นผลจากคุณภาพ ที่ปรากฏต่อการรับรู้ของมนุษย์ผู้มีญาณ หรือแสดงออกทางพฤติกรรมของมนุษย์ผู้ทรงศีลทรงธรรม ทำให้คนทั่วไปรู้เห็นได้ว่าเป็นผู้มีธรรม หรือเป็นคนที่งาม โดยไม่จำกัดอายุและเพศวัย
