Abstract

               This research aims to 1) study the issue of academic administration for developing students’ literacy at Mee-Suk school, 2) define the academic
administration guidelines for developing students’ literacy at Mee-Suk school, and 3) evaluation results of academic administration development students’
literacy at Mee-Suk school.


              The researcher uses Participatory Action Research: PAR(2 study circles 10 elements): 1st study circle is preparation, planning, action, observing and reflecting; 2nd study circle is planning, action,  observing, reflection and conclusion. The target group was divided into 2 groups with 34 participants. First group is school personnels, including a head of academic affairs, 21 teachers and 6 students, 28 participants in total.
Another group is outsiders, including 6 parents for each level. The research instruments are interview form, questionnaires, record form, observation form
and performance assessment form.
              The results revealed that the issue of academic administration was, the percentage of students who failed reading skill assessment criteria for
73.71 and writing skill assessment criteria as 78.05. The researcher has defined 3 academic administration guidelines for developing students’ literacy
at Mee-Suk school: 100% literacy project, learning process development project and academic home project. The evaluation results of academic development for literacy on teaching and learning, development of the learning process and research and development for quality of education showed that the overall were at the highest level. In addition, the researcher, teachers and parents have learned from several practices, including knowledge, experiences and new practices with 3 elements: 1) new knowledge based on the principle of Participatory Action Research in a particular context of Mee-Suk school, beginning with the school director., 2) new knowledge based on participants is, assigning daily literacy activities by class teacher, teacher meeting, and weekly student reports., 3) new knowledge as a teamwork in the final research step is building
Professional Learning Community (PLC).
