Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop a causal relationship model of turnover intention among dental health officers at sub-district health promoting hospitals in the northeast of Thailand. The model consisted of four latent variables including job satisfaction, organizational commitment, organizational culture and turnover intention based on conceptual framework of the research.  The samples included 483 dental health officers was selected by proportional stratified random sampling. The data were collected by using self-administered questionnaires with goodvalidity and reliability.  Descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling were used to analyze data.

The results showed that the sample demonstrated high level of turnover intention. The adjusted model was consistent with the empirical data as demonstrated  by the following fit measures: chi-square test = 100.246 , df = 81, P = .072, RMSEA = .022, SRMR = .027, CFI = .997, TLI = .995, all variables in the adjusted model account for 50% of the total variance in turnover intention.
