FACTORS AFFECTING SERVICE EFFECTIVENESS OF PUBLIC BUS DRIVERS OF BANGKOK MASS TRANSIT AUTHORITY, BUS AREA NUMBER 6

Abstract

The research is aimed to study 1) Factors that affect service effectiveness of public bus drivers working at Bangkok Mass Transit Authority, Bus Area Number 6, and 2) Ways to improve service effectiveness of public bus drivers of Bangkok Mass Transit Authority, Bus Area Number 6. The population consists of 650 public bus drivers working at Bangkok Mass Transit Authority, Bus Area Number 6. The analysis is undertaken by using the statistical package for social science program. The descriptive statistical data include frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

The results show that 1) Factors affecting service effectiveness of public bus drivers working at Bangkok Mass Transit Authority, Bus Area Number 6, include knowledge and expertise dimension, work environment dimension, colleague relationship dimension, morale dimension, and an operative public bus dimension. The service effectiveness is at the moderate level. 2) Ways to improve service effectiveness include work environment, the organization should improve work environment both interior and exterior aspects, and to improve the operative vehicles by having an appropriate maintenance.
