Model of Public Speaking Skill Development for Local Community Leaders

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study knowledge extraction of problem solving process in public speaking and public speaking skill development   2) to evaluate the training results of public speaking skill development. 3) to present the model of public speaking skill development for local community leaders. This research was conducted with qualitative method. For data collection, document study, observation, in-depth interviews and meeting were conducted by purposive sampling which was consisted of the major lecturers and participants in the training program. The data was analyzed by constant comparison and analytic induction.


               The research findings indicated that:


  1. The problem solving process and skill development in public speaking were as these aspects 1) resolving trainees’ behavior problems 2) recording strengths and weaknesses of each trainee individually  3) developing the speaking skill through practicing more than one time and  4) establishing personality development.   

  2. 2. The model can be applied in government work, social life and daily life.

  3. The development model was included step 1 : adjusting public speaking skill of the trainee in all aspects, step 2 : training one by one, step 3 : valuing suggestions and step 4 : practicing step by step.
