Resilience and Stress among the 1st Nursing Students at Faculty of Nursing Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University

Abstract
This descriptive research aimed to study resilience, stress and related between resilience and stress among 111 the 1st nursing students of Faculty of Nursing, Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University. Collected data from February to March 2016 by questionnaires, the resilience assessment tool and the Suanprung Stress test-20 which had Cronbach’s alpha coefficient 0.75 and 0.73, respectively. Data were analyzed and presented by frequency, percentage, mean, median, standard deviation, interquartile range, minimum and maximum and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient at 0.05 level of significance. Found that.
Almost of them had lower level of resilience (55.0%), minor moderate level (30.6%) and good level (14.4%), respectively. The median score of resilience of life was 64.0 (IQR=30.0), minimium and maximum score were 51 and 135. Almost of them had high level of stress (64.0%), minor severe level (23.4%) and moderate level (12.6%), respectively. The median score of stress was 55.0 (IQR=13.0), minimium and maximum score were 28 and 89. And found that the resilience of life associated with the stress at negative direction and moderate level in statistically significance at the 0.05 level result (rrho = -0.321 , p-value =0.001).
These study suggested that we would collected some data of people who had lower level of resilience for care plan. Including as well as Educational Institutions should help students for reduce stress and increase their strength in life, encourage families to help and prevent stress.
