Abstract

The aims of this research were: 1) to study the learning management for developing volunteer spirit of the students in Social Studies, Religion and Culture Studies Department in high schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 25; 2) to compare the learning management for developing volunteer spirit of the students based on the factors of the samples: education, working experience and school size; 3) to study the ways to develop and improve the mentioned learning management. This quantitative research was carried out by means of survey research with its tool as a questionnaire. The samples of this research included 187 of teachers who were responsible to teach social studies, religions and culture in the schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 25. The statistics used in data analysis were: Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test, f-test and Scheffe’s Least Square Difference.


          The research results were as follows:


          1) The overall statistic score of the learning management for developing volunteer spirit of the students in Social Studies, Religion and Culture Studies Department in high schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 25 was at a high level ( =4.19).


          2) Based on the comparison of the learning management for developing volunteer spirit of the students classified by the sample factors, classified by their education, the statistic scores in this aspect were indifferent at the significance level of .05; this denied the set hypothesis. Classified by their working experiences and school sizes, the statistic scores in this aspect were different at the significance level of .05; this accepted the set hypothesis.


          3) The ways to develop and improve the mentioned learning management are that the teachers should support the students to care the surrounding people, to have volunteer spirit to help the others without expecting the returns and to help the suffered people. The students should be taught to respect and follow the school regulations, to provide collaboration in the school activities with harmony. The teachers should have the clear ways to arrange the volunteer activities to develop the students according to the set objectives.
