Foresight futures scenarios of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna Nan year 2022

Abstract
The purposes of this study were to analyze the preferable scenarios of
University of Technology Lanna Nan in year 2022. The process consisted of 3
stages including, 1) identifying the present status, events, and trends that emerged
changes, 2) considering the impacts of those trends and events that affect the
scenarios of the University in 2022, and 3) developing the alternative possible
futures and preferable scenarios of the University in 2022. The sample group,
twenty-one participants and five experts using in study was the present and
former administrators, members, students, alumni and their employees, the expert
in education.
The research finding revealed that the 4 missions of the University were
teaching and learning, researching, serving public, and promoting art and culture.
There were 7 important events and trends that might affected the University.
These events induced 35 primary and 73 secondary impact events, but there were
only 39 events that had high consistency. The interactions of these events
developed 6 alterative scenarios of the University in 2022. The one which had
medium impact and high opportunity to develop was chosen to create the
preferable scenarios by using scenario logic. The 2 external driving forces, the
competition of educational service and the use of educational technology, were
combined the chosen alternative scenario; as a result, the 4 preferable scenarios
of the University in 2022 were developed. The fourth preferable scenarios that
needed to expedite was the competitiveness of educational provision and support
of technology were high.
