Abstract
This study aimed to construct and measure the quality of self-discipline of students in
secondary school, and to establish norms for interpretation of test scores with a measure of selfdiscipline. The samples used in this study were secondary school students which expansion of
school education, the Office of Education School 4 in Buriram district of academic year 2011 about
700 students who from 19 schools, obtained that obtained by the Multi–Stage Random Sampling
technique. The instruments used for the study were a test of self-discipline that had the two
different forms of measurement, there were situation test with three options of 40 items and the
text test of the 5-level scale of 48 items. Each issue consisted of the self-discipline in 6 there were
responsibility, self-confidence, patience, faithfulness, leadership and self-behaving of the social
rules and regulations of society. Tested three times to find a quality of the instruments, in first
time, for analysis of the discrimination with the t (t-test), the second time for analysis of
discrimination with the t (t-test) and the accurate structural integrity with factor analysis. And the
third time, for finding the accurate structural integrity with several different methods (Multitrait
Multi-method) with all of both discrimination. And find the norms in term of T usual scores and
expand T usual scores by the prediction equation.
The findings were as follows :
1.The measuring form of self –discipline that is built had standards quality it’s mean
that the situation issue passed the criterion about 40 articles, through the analysis of the
discriminative power of by t-test, had the t-value from 2.61 to 12.62,which all is statistically
significant at the .01 level, classified in the fields by the following ; the responsibility passing
criteria is of 7 items, had the t-value from 2.81 to 5.70, which is statistically significant at the .01
level. The responsibility passing criteria is of 7 items, had the t-value from 2.61 to 7.56, which is
statistically significant at the .01 level. The tolerance passing criteria is of 6 items, had the t-value
from 5.77 12.62, which is statistically significant at the .01 level. And the integrity passing criteria is
of 7 items, had the t-value from 4.36 to 8.74, which is statistically significant at the .01 level. The
leadership qualified passing criteria is of 6 items, had the t-value from 5.56 to 9.66, which is
statistically significant at the .01 level. And the passing criteria is of 7 items, had the t-value from
6.60 to 11.18, which is statistically significant at the .01 level. The original text scale passed the
criterion about 48 articles, the analysis of the discriminative by t-test had the t-value from 2.32 to
13.46, which is statistically significant at the .01 level all of them, classified in the fields by the
following ; the responsibility passing criteria is of 8 items, had the t-value from 4.19 to 8.96, which
is statistically significant at the .01 level. The confidence in themselves passing criteria is of 8
items, had the t-value from 2.80 to 13.46, which is statistically significant at the .01 level. The
tolerance passing criteria is of 8 items, had the t-value from 2.57 to 4.88, which is statistically
significant at the .01 level. The integrity passing criteria is of 8 items, had the t-value from 3.36 to
7.58, which is statistically significant at the .01 level. The leadership qualified passing criteria is of 8
items, had the t-value from 2.32 to 9.20, which is statistically significant at the .01 level. And the
rules and regulations of the society passing criteria is of 8 items, had the t-value from 4.15 to 8.32,
which is statistically significant at the .01 level. Structural integrity from element analysis (Factor
Analysis) was found that the measure of the situation had the scale of factor from 0.83 to 0.95.
The original text scale had the scale of factor from 0.71 to 0.95.validity by factor analysis was
found in the situation test had factor from 0.83 to 0.98.Andthen considering the structural
integrity with several analysis different methods for measuring the self –discipline in 2 issues was
found that the correlation coefficient of reliability was from 0.52 to 0.96 for each, had the
statistically significant at the .01 level and had the reliability all issue is 0.94.
2. Standard norm scores of self –discipline in situation test ranged from T29 to T67
and in each aspect the scores ranged from T21 to T77. The standard norm scores of self–
discipline in text version with level scale ranged from T28 to T 66 and in each aspect the scores
ranged from T 26 to T 68.
