Abstract

A study of factors affection mathematics learning achievement in the mathematics
Learning Strand will enable teachers to make plans for organization of learning
achievement in the mathematics learning strand of Prathomsueksa 6 students under
the Office of The municipality school in Udonthani municipal area, and to construct
predictive a quations of learning achievement in the matematics learning strand of
Prathomsueksa 6 students under the Office of The municipality school in Udonthani
municipal area. The sample in the first semester of the academic year 2012, the
sample consistedof 330 students obtained by using the Stratified random sampling
technique. Two types of the instruments used in the study were a 49-item scale
in 8 aspects with discriminating powers ranging 0.25-0.56 and a reliability of .94 ; and
2 test investigated fundamental mathematics knowledge test and an achievement
test with difficulties ranging 0.27 - 0.75 and 0.28 - 0.78 ,discriminating powers ranging
0.20 - 0.76 and 0.21 - 0.73 respectively, and reliabilities q .86 and .89 respectively the
statistics used for analyzing the collected date were percentage, mean, standard
deviation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The results of the study were follows:
1. Some factors including : attitude toward mathematics learning ( X1 ),
achievement motivation ( X 2 ), attention ( X 4 ),quality of teacher’s instruction ( X 5 ),
parents’ attention ( X 6 ), classroom climact( X 8 ) were positively related to learning
achievement in the mathematics learning (Y ) at the .01 level of significance and prior
knowledge ( X 3 ) were positively related to learning achievement in the mathematics
learning (Y ) at the .05 level of significance.
2. The variables which could prediction to learning achievement in the
mathematics learning strand of Prathomsueksa 6 students including : attitude toward
mathematics learning ( X1 ) , attention ( X 4 ),classroom climact( X 8 ), parents’ attention
( X 6 ), quality of teacher’s instruction ( X 5 ) These Variables could explain variables of
learning achievement in the mathematics learning strand (Y ) at 78.10 percent.
Predictive equations could be constructed in a raw-score form and a standardscore form as below.
