THE TEACHER DEVELOPING MODEL UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF LOEI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE I IN CREATING THE INSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT POTENTIAL OF THE ANALYTICAL THINKING SKILL

Abstract

The objective of this research were aimed at 1) studying the state of problems,
needs, guidelines and factors to development the teacher under the jurisdiction of loei
primary educational service area office 1 in creating the instruction management potential
of the analytical thinking skill 2) creating the teacher developing model under the
jurisdiction of loei primary educational service area office 1 in creating the instruction
management potential of the analytical thinking skill 3) experimenting the teacher
developing model under the jurisdiction of loei primary educational service area office 1
which researcher constructed and 4) evaluating the teacher developing model under the
jurisdiction of loei primary educational service area office 1 which researcher constructed
by using research and development methodology.
The sample was used to survey the state of problems, needs, guidelines and
factors were consists of 300 teachers and 50 administrators. The data collecting strategies
was questionnaires and focus group discussion. The sample that was used to create the
teacher developing model under the jurisdiction of loei primary educational service area
office 1 in creating the instruction management potential of the analytical thinking skill
were 20 teachers, 3 supervisors and 5 university professors which expert in the instruction
management of analytical thinking skills, instrument that was used in this process was
questionnaires and discussion conference.
For the sample was used to experiment the teacher developing model under
the jurisdiction of loei primary educational service area office 1 consists of 68 primary
school teacher between grade 1 to 6 and 1,339 students which study in 9 school. The
instrument used to measure an analytical thinking skill of student between grade 1 to 6
in Thai language and mathematic subject was a set of critical thinking skill measurement
and a set of interviewed teacher’s opinion against a model, problem, obstacle and
commentary in using a model.
The sample was used for evaluate the teacher developing model under the
jurisdiction of loei primary educational service area office 1 which researcher constructed
was 68 teachers which teach Thai language subject and mathematic whose participate in
trail of using model. The instrument for collected data was questionnaires and conference
for the sample gave the opinion and recommendation in using the teacher developing
model under the jurisdiction of loei primary educational service area office 1 which
researcher constructed. The data was analyzed by using average and standard deviation
and testing the difference of mean between before and after use the activity package to
enhance the analytical thinking skill for each school by using the Wilcoxon signed-ranks
test beside of testing the difference of mean all nine schools by using t-test dependent.
For qualitative data, content analysis was used for determines the accordance of the
data.
The results showed that problem in the instruction management of the analytical
thinking skill were 1) Too much teacher’s workload 2) Lack of tools for determine
analytical thinking skill 3) No study of the theory of analytical thinking skill 4) Rarely of
teaching analytical thinking skill in class 5) Unequal basic knowledge of student 6) Student
are not assertive. The teacher wanted to have the instruction management of the analytical
thinking skill, guidelines and factors to development the teacher consists which consists
of 1) Explore the needs of teacher 2) Training 3) Study from a successful school 4) Build
a tools for measure analytical and thinking skill and 5) Building a network of work followup. The results of the teacher developing model under the jurisdiction of loei primary
educational service area office 1 which researcher constructed comprise of factors and
indicators as follow, 1) Input: factor 1 the survey prior to development 2) Process : factor
2 Setting developmental strategies 3) Output : Configurations 3 Presentation result of
development
The results from experimenting the teacher developing model under the
jurisdiction of loei primary educational service area office 1, the result was showed that,
students have the analytical thinking skill after used the activity package to enhance
analytical thinking skill, the results was that after using was higher than learning achieved
before using, the analysis of data was found that statistical significance at the .05 level.
Moreover the teachers have commented that a model used to explore the problems of
instruction management analytical thinking skills was not consistent with the actual
implementation because most of the students have low analytical thinking skills and
there are no tools to measure and analyze the cause of low analytical thinking skills.
Though, case follow-up should be added in using the activity package to enhance the
analytical thinking skill. Moreover complete of the activity package to enhance the
analytical thinking skill will help to reduce the workload of teachers and other help
student to develop faster. The results of evaluating the teacher developing model
under the jurisdiction of loei primary educational service area office 1 which researcher
constructed was found that, overall the sample that was participate in this research have
an opinion about the teacher developing model under the jurisdiction of loei primary
educational service area office 1 in the high level.
