History of Negotiations for the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japna and South Korea in 1965

Abstract

Japanese and South Korean officials had negotiated for 14 years in order to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1965. Visions of political leaders, political stabilities and economic developmental strategies of these two countries had played significant roles as internal factors in this long process. For the external factors, security relations with the United States and changing situations in the Cold War had influenced these diplomatic negotiations.
