The Boosting of Workers’ Union Membership Commitment: A Case Study of the CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (Thailand) Workers’ Union

Abstract
The aim of the study was to study the level of commitment of members toward the Labor Union, to study the influence between the operation based on the objectives of the State Enterprise Labor Union and the commitment of members, and to study the ways of boosting the commitment that the State Enterprise Labor Union should do for its own members in the future.
The results showed that gender, responsible lines, period of time of being member of the Labor Union, holding position in Labor Union with the commitment towards the organization of the State Enterprise Labor Union, and personal factors did not have a significant difference of the commitment towards the organization of the State Enterprise Labor Union. Also, personal factors like difference on age, education level, level of position, the number of responsible members in the family, average income per month, period of time of work in the organization, the place where the work is performed, led to the difference of the commitment towards the organization.
Furthermore it was found that the promotion of good commitment between the employees and the employer and among the employees considering to help members under the complaint, seeking for and protecting benefit concerned with employment condition of the employees, operation and cooperation for efficiency, and maintaining the benefits of the CAT Telecom Public Company Limited, promoting and arranging for study and welfare to members affected the commitment towards the organization.
