Expectations of the Mpi Ethnic Group on the Desirable Local Political Leaders: A Case Study of Ban Dong Village in Phrae Provine

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to study the desirable characteristics of local political leaders as expectedly the Mpi ethnic group, 2) to study the factors influencing the opinions of Mpi ethnic group on local political leaders.The sample of this quantitative research were 100 people.The data was collected by using questionnaires.The findings of this research revealed that the expectation of desirable characteristics of local political leaders was the highest. Regarding the factors influencing the opinions of the Mpi ethnic group on local political leaders, it was found that gender had influenced different levels of Mpi ethnic group’s opinions. However, age, marital status, education, occupation, income and duration of residence did not affect their opinions. Moreover, the research findings showed a significant positive correlation between the expectations of Mpi ethnic group on the desirable characteristics of local political leaders and their opinions on the local political leaders.
