บทคัดย่อ
บทความวิชาการนี้มุ่งศึกษา บางบัวทองในบริบทประวัติศาสตร์ โดยเชื่อมโยงกับสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 การเกิดค่ายพิทักษ์บางบัวทอง หรือ ค่ายกักกันเชลยญี่ปุ่นในประเทศไทย โดยใช้เอกสาร หลักฐานชั้นต้นและการสัมภาษณ์
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การยกพลขึ้นบกของญี่ปุ่นกดดันให้รัฐบาลไทยประกาศสงครามกับฝ่ายพันธมิตร ในวันที่ 25 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2485 ญี่ปุ่นตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของไทยในฐานะพันธมิตรสนับสนุนการยึดครองเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และ
