Using Peer Assist Learning Strategies Combined with Picture Decoding Game for Enhancing Students’ Ability to Memorize English Vocabulary of Mathayomsuksa 1 Students at Navamindarajudis Thaksin School, Songkhla

Abstract

        This research aimed to 1) develop English vocabulary recognition with peer-assisted teaching combined with picture decoding games. 2) compare academic achievement before and after using peer assist teaching combined with picture decoding games. 3) study student satisfaction with learning management through peer-assisted teaching combined with picture decoding games. This research sample consists of 36 from Matthayomsuksa 1/4. The research tools include A test to measure the retention of English vocabulary, peer-assist teaching combined with picture decoding games lesson plans, and an assessment of student satisfaction. The data analysis involved calculating means, standard deviations, dependent t-tests, and evaluating effectiveness based on a criterion of 60/60 using the E1/E2 formula.
        The research results were as follows: 1) using the lesson plans through using peer-assisted teaching combined with picture decoding games to develop the ability and durability to remember English vocabulary. It has an efficiency value of 80/79.7, which is equal to the specified criteria of 80/80. 2) achievement in memorizing English vocabulary of the target group students was higher achievement after learning than before learning through peer assistance combined with picture decoding games with statistical significance at the .05 level. 3) the students were satisfied at a high level with peer assist learning strategies combined with picture decoding games for enhancing students’ ability to memorize English vocabulary.
