Needs Assessment of the Students in Organizing Learning Supports of the Faculty of Thai Traditional Medicine and Alternative Medicine, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the actual and expected conditions in organizing learning supports of the Faculty of Thai Traditional Medicine and Alternative Medicine, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University and 2) to assess the needs of the students in organizing learning supports of the Faculty of Thai Traditional Medicine and Alternative Medicine, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University. The samples were 152 students studying in the Faculty of Thai Traditional Medicine and Alternative Medicine, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University randomized by stratified sampling. The research instrument was a five-rating-scale questionnaire with a dual – response format and the reliability of .814. The statistics used were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The analysis and the organization of the needs were conducted by using the modified Priority Needs Index (PNI _Modified).
The research findings were as follows.
1. The actual conditions in organizing learning supports of the Faculty of Thai Traditional Medicine and Alternative Medicine, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University in the overall were at a high level (x̄ = 3.52, S =.60), and the expected conditions in the overall were at the highest level (x̄ = 4.89, S =.30).
2. The needs of the students in organizing learning supports of the Faculty of Thai Traditional Medicine and Alternative Medicine, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University from the highest to the lowest for the first four items were the physical environment (.44) for the first item, followed by the library, the books, the textbooks, and the information (.43), the information technology and the online teaching and learning (.37), and the classrooms, the laboratories, the learning and teaching instruments (.34), respectively.
