The role of the organization to promote lifelong learning for poor urban Case studies: The main town in the northeast region of Thailand

Abstract

This article is a part of the thesis in dynamics of educational inequality of the urban poor and appropriate management guidelines. That aimed to analyze learning for life for the urban poor. The data was collected by, using in-depth interview. and interview guideline to interview officers in the organization, of management and promotion of lifelong learning for, the urban poor, including 3 places; is municipal Ratanapa, vocational training center for women. And nonformal education (NFE). The result of the study was government agencies have to support the activities or projects which are importance to the development of the urban poor living in communities along the railway continued to foster lifelong learning in all ages. And the government agencies, support the development of quality of life. In the management , found that enhancing lifelong learning for the urban poor living along the railway obstacles arising from factors within the agency. The lack of emphasis on the promotion or persuade the urban poor of all ages have seen the importance of lifelong learning. The lack of planning guidance to promote the creation and insertion of the habit of lifelong learning. and the motivation to learn to hit the target, so people in the community to learn from the need to learn from their experience. Including factors arising from the urban poor have no time to attend training because of a labor income households need every day. Therefore, diversity, of learning management, consistent with the way of life of the urban poor, reduce official, the promoting the participation, creating the horizontal learning, will reduce constraints of the process and promoting of lifelong learning more effectively.
