Abstract

The objectives of this study were follows: 1) the procedures and the working process of designing the Rehabilitation and Development Center for the Homeless, Pathum Thani Province; 2) Characteristics of participation in the design process of the homeless. This study includes participatory action research method and qualitative research method. The data was collected through participation in design practices. Study from related documents and research.  Observing and interviewing which both structured and unstructured. The results have shown that the execution of the design process is carried out simultaneously with the process of inviting the homeless to join the group of homeless. This hinders the participation and creation of a higher level of participation among the homeless. However, the design process is an important mechanism that encourages more integration, including creating community networks and social networks with external agencies alike, can empower them and grant them with opportunities and an access to better livelihood.
