The purpose of this study aims to assess the need of people for the development plan in Mueang District, Songkhla Province by using questionnaires as a tool for studying. Data were collected from 600 samples in 6 sub-districts in Mueang District, Songkhla Province, and accidental sampling. The statistics used in analyzing the collected data were descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and necessary index. This study found that the highest needs were strategic plan in economic (0.63) and security in life and property (0.61). In addition, it was found that the implementation of the provincial development plan has not yet responded to the needs of the people in the study area, mainly due to unbalanced distribution of budget. The budget was used in certain activities and areas. Suggestions from this research, Songkhla Province should allocate budget for the development of public transport infrastructure and high-speed internet networks in the review of the next development plan.
