Abstract

                 The student affairs administration is an educational process that the higher education institutions organized to give students the opportunity to participate in activities to improve the quality of students in higher education institutions. By focusing on the quality of learners in addition to normal teaching and learning which gives students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to practical use and can be a transfer of learning into practice that focus on human development; body, mind, personality, concept, knowledge, morality, ethics and culture in life, can live happily with others. Participation in activities of students are important which the Student Affairs Department is responsible for looking after the students, provide students with readiness in education and student development, in order to be a person that has received complete knowledge, therefore is considered an important mission of higher education institutions to develop student potential and student affairs. In order to get graduates with desired characteristics, have quality and competing ability in both domestic and foreign labor markets. Including the development of necessary skills for living in the 21st century so there is a strategy for develop students in higher education institutions for develop and upgrade performance and the ability of students to compete in the international community with quality. The education in the 21st century, the most important thing is the cultivating for make students aware and give importance for developing of one's own thoughts, based on the changing of the future global which must be based on the knowledge of core subjects, new century skills and skills of the 21st century contain with learning skills and innovation, life skills and career, information skills, media and technology etc. which will help students to prepare readiness for thinking, learn to work, knowing to solve problems,  communication and collaboration to work effectively throughout life. As well as about the desirable characteristics of students in the 21st century. Teaching styles and methods therefore need to focus on the students to create knowledge from the learning process by actions, from work or from activities in context or real-world problems.
