ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS AFFECTING OPERATIONS BASED ON WORLD-CLASS STANDARD SCHOOL QUALITY AWARD CRITERIA OF SCHOOLS UNDER THE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 9

This research aimed to: 1) study the level of academic leadership of school administrators; 2) study the level of operation based on world-class standard school quality award criteria of schools; and 3) analyze the school administrators’ academic leadership affecting the operation based on world-class standard school quality award criteria of schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9. The sample was 327 teachers in schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9 that passed the operational assessment based on world-class standard school quality award criteria. The research instrument was a questionnaire constructed by the researcher. Data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation and stepwise multiple regression.
The findings of this research were as follows:
- Overall and in specific aspects, the academic leadership of school administrators was at a high level. The aspects were students’ potential development, creation of learning atmosphere and culture, determination of direction for change, supervision and assessment of teaching, administration of curriculum and instruction, and development of professional teachers, respectively.
- Overall and in specific aspects, the operation based on world-class standard school quality award criteria was at the high level. The aspects were organizational leadership; strategies; students and stakeholders; measurement, analysis, and knowledge management; workforce; operation; and results, respectively.
3. The academic leadership of school administrators in aspects of development of professional teachers , administration of curriculum and instruction, supervision and assessment of teaching and creation of learning atmosphere and culture together predicted the operation based on world-class standard school quality award criteria at the percentage of 80.00 with statistical significance level of .01.
