The Effect of The Grou Counseling Based on Rogers's Theory for Developing Self – Concept of Upper Secondary School Students in Rajaprajanugroh 50 School Khon Kaen Province

The purpose of the quasi-experimental research was to study the effects of the group counseling program base on Rogers Theory for developing self-concept. The sample were developing Self-concept of Upper Secondary School Students at Rajaprajanugroh 50 Khon Kaen Province. They were studying during the second semester of 2013 academic year. The sample of 16 students were randomly grouped to experimental group and control group, 8 students each. The experimental group attended 8 two times a week, 60 minutes to 90 minutes of training while the control group did not. The instruments were 1) The Self-concept test with reliability coefficient of 0.87 2) The group counseling program base on Rogers Theory for developing Self-concept. The statistic consisted of the Mean, Standard Deviation, The Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed - Ranks Test and The Mann – Whitney U Test. The research findings found that the experimental group used of group counseling base on Rogers Theory obtained their posttest Self-concept Ability in higher level than the pretest at .05 significant level. In addition, they also obtained their posttest Self-concept ability in higher level than those of the control group at .05 significant level.
