Announcement of the Journal of Education Khon Kaen University
Subject: Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Writing and Reviewing Manuscripts

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including Generative AI, are increasingly used in academic work, the Journal of Education Khon Kaen University (EDKKUJ) establishes the following policy to ensure transparency and adherence to publication ethics:

1. For Authors
1.1 Authors may use AI tools to improve language, check grammar, or translate text, provided that they verify the accuracy of all content.
1.2 Authors must disclose the use of AI in the manuscript, stating the name of the tool and the purpose of its use, in the Acknowledgments or at the end of the manuscript.
1.3 AI tools must not be listed as an author or co-author, as they cannot take responsibility for the content of the work.
1.4 AI must not be used to generate or manipulate data, research results, images, or references. Authors must ensure that all references exist and are accurate.
1.5 Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of their manuscripts.

2. For Reviewers
2.1 Reviewers must not upload manuscripts, or any part thereof, to AI tools, as this violates the confidentiality of the manuscript and its authors.
2.2 Review comments and recommendations must reflect the reviewer's own assessment.

3. For Editors and the Editorial Board
3.1 Editors must not upload manuscripts or confidential manuscript information to AI tools.
3.2 Editorial decisions must be based on the editors' own judgment.

4. Non-compliance
If undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI is identified, the journal reserves the right to reject the manuscript or retract a published article in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

This policy applies to manuscripts submitted on or after 1 January 2027.
