Abstract

This research aims to study policies and strategies for preventing and solving adolescent pregnancy problems in Thailand and provides suggestion. The study is based on document studies and in-depth interviews. The situation of policy and strategy utilization by each agency was found to be in accordance with the Act of Parliament, national strategies, and agencies’ mission. The campaign communication strategy was not defined in the agencies’ action plans. The agencies deployed collaboration, awareness and understanding strategies focusing mainly on training and additional public and social media. A lack of folk media use affected the problem resolution. The research suggests that the government should include the communication policy in the Act of Parliament and national strategy, and should define campaign communication strategies in the mission of the agencies, especially the strategies for promoting awareness and understanding, improving staff skills in communication, and choosing appropriate media for the target groups, such as folk media for communities.
