What's Meaningful Work and Why It Matters

Meaningful work has already been proved that it benefits not only to employees but also to employers. Various research in recent years put their attention on how to promote meaningful work. Studies have found that workers who experienced meaningful work tend to work harder and engage more to their organisation. Meaningful work are also reported to relate to higher job satisfaction and life satisfaction. This article aims to review relevant literatures and research to illustrate the scope of knowledge concerns meaningful work including the meaning of meaningful work, the importance of meaninful work, the context by which meainingful work and meaningless work are cultivated, and managing meaninful work thourgh corporate social responsibility and volunteering.
