This article analyzes the linguistic strategies used in titling news episodes for the show “Hone Krasae,” based on post-structuralism and discourse studies. The study examined 60 episode titles from January 2023 to May 2025. The findings reveal that news titles are not neutral. They create powerful discourse through three key linguistic strategies 1) using drama to evoke emotion (e.g., violent language, hyperbole) 2) employing binary oppositions to guide moral judgment (e.g., victim vs. perpetrator) and 3) reproducing social ideologies through familiar images (e.g., the self-sacrificing mother). These results indicate that language in the media does not just convey information but acts as a crucial tool for shaping audience perception. This study contributes to the critique of media language and can be applied to developing media literacy in contemporary Thai society.
