Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The peer review process of the Journal of Accountancy and Management is designed to ensure the publication of high-quality scholarly works. The process involves the following sequential steps:

1. Submission
Authors are required to submit their manuscripts to the Journal via the ThaiJO system. Submissions must include all necessary files, such as figures and editable tables, and authors must complete all required information in the system.

2. Initial Editorial Review (and Publication Fee)
The editorial board evaluates the manuscript for aims, scope, format, and completeness. The manuscript must include all necessary sections and be presented clearly and concisely, strictly adhering to the Author Guidelines. Incomplete manuscripts or those not meeting the format requirements will not be considered, and authors will be notified through the ThaiJO system. This initial editorial review typically takes 1 week. Upon passing this evaluation, authors are required to pay a non-refundable 4,500 THB publication fee. Manuscripts may also face Rejection at this stage and be returned to the authors.

3. Peer Review
Submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. The editorial board assigns each manuscript to 3 reviewers. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area and must be affiliated with distinct institutions, none of which may be the same as those of the manuscript’s authors. The review process generally takes 3 to 4 weeks and may result in one of the following decisions:

  • Acceptance without revision (If no revision is required, the manuscript skips Step 4 and proceeds directly to Step 5: Final Editorial Review).
  • Acceptance with requested revisions.
  • Rejection (The process ends and is returned to the authors).

The review outcomes and feedback will be communicated to the author via the ThaiJO system.

4. Revision
If the manuscript is conditionally accepted, authors must revise it based on the reviewers' recommendations. The revised manuscript, along with necessary materials, should be submitted with clear indications of the changes made. If authors disagree with minor or major comments from the reviewers, they must provide reasonable academic explanations. The journal reserves the right to reject the manuscript if the author fails to address the recommended revisions adequately. This revision phase typically spans about 4 weeks.

5. Final Editorial Review
The editorial board reviews the revised manuscripts for typographical errors and completeness (processed in the order of submission). Inquiries or suggestions from the editorial board will be communicated to the author for confirmation. The editorial board retains the right to make amendments related to the journal’s layout, writing style, and reference format without prior notification to the author. This period typically spans about 2 to 3 weeks per manuscript.

6. Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief reviews the manuscript after the peer review process and makes a final decision. Authors may be contacted for further information or verification during this period, which may occasionally delay the duration of the manuscript revision process.

7. Copyediting & Artwork
Accepted manuscripts undergo thorough copyediting and formatting checks by the Journal, ensuring compliance with the APA 7th edition style and Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) requirements. Corrections related to formatting, in-text citations, and referencing are communicated to the corresponding author. Content revisions are no longer permitted during this stage. This stage lasts approximately 1 week per article, processed in the order of completion from the previous stage.

8. Proofreading & Final Correction
The accepted manuscript undergoes rigorous proofreading by the Journal of Accountancy and Management experts to ensure high-quality language use and grammar. Artwork and tables are finalized, and the manuscript is prepared for online publishing. This final stage typically takes about 1 week per article, processed in the order of completion.

9. Publication
The final version of the manuscript is published on the journal’s website. The entire process from initial submission to final publication takes approximately 4 to 5 months.
