Abstract

This research aims to 1) develop and validate a causal relationship model of factors affecting Digital Banking usage intention behavior, 2) examine the levels of Digital Banking payment acceptance, attitudes, perceived risk, trust, and usage intention behavior, and 3) investigate the direct and indirect influences of Digital Banking payment acceptance and risk perception on Digital Banking usage intention behavior through the mediating variables of attitude and trust among market vendors in Kamphaeng Phet Province. This quantitative research employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for data analysis. The questionnaire is developed based on UTAUT2 and TAM theoretical frameworks, collecting data from 361 market vendor samples across 11 districts in Kamphaeng Phet Province.

The findings show that the model demonstrate excellent fit with empirical data. Vendors have high levels of Digital Banking acceptance (x̄ = 3.82), but moderate levels of usage intention behavior (x̄ = 3.34), attitudes (x̄ = 2.94), and trust (x̄ = 2.91). Hypothesis testing reveals that attitudes had a statistically significant positive influence on usage intention behavior. (β = 0.402 , p < 0.001), and on trust (β = 0.634 , p < 0.001), while trust significantly influences usage intention behavior (β = 0.275 , p < 0.001). Considering indirect effect and total effects, the attitudes significantly indirectly influence behavioral intention to use through trust (0.175), indicating that trust serves as a partial mediator. The attitudes have the highest total effect (0.577), followed by trust (0.275). All four factors collectively predict 37.80% of the variance in behavioral intention.

Recommendations for promoting Digital Banking usage in markets should focus on developing positive attitudes through communicating benefits and convenience, building trust through security guarantees, and reducing perceived risk through education. This research supports technology acceptance theory and demonstrates the importance of mediating mechanisms of attitudes and trust in the context of small-scale rural entrepreneurs.
