Strengthening the Good Governance in the Departments of Education in Chaiyaphum Province

Abstract

This research aims 1) to study the problem and obstacles to strengthen the good governance in educational department in Chaiyaphum Province; 2) to analyze the model of strengthening the good governance in educational department in Chaiyaphum Province; and 3) to propose guidelines for strengthening the good governance in educational department in Chaiyaphum Province. The sixty key informants are individually conducted by in-depth interview. The research instruments consist of a semi-structure interview and focus group discussion to collect data. The data are done based on content analysis according to the objectives set.

The results of the research indicate that 1) the problems and obstacles related to administration in educational departments in Chaiyaphum Province consist of (1) problems of academic administration; (2) problems in recruiting and appointing employees; (3) problems of budget management; and (4) problems of general administration. 2. Model of strengthening the good governance in educational departments in Chaiyaphum Province is found the approach to promote good governance to be succeeded in the followings: (1) rule of law; (2) moral principle; (3) transparency; (4) principles of participation; (5) principles of responsibility; and (6) value principles. 3) The body of knowledge from research concerns with the guidelines for strengthening the good governance in educational department in Chaiyaphum Province indicates that the problems and obstacles of educational department are divided into four aspects which establish a guideline to support the good governance in educational department into six principles. These are the model of strengthening the good governance in educational department in Chaiyaphum Province to administrate effectively.
