Kalama Sutta: Doctrine in the Digital Age

Abstract

          Kalama Sutta is the doctrine which explains the practical ways in case of doubt, to screen information, and to confirm the reason about faith. There are ten aspects which the Buddha taught Kalama Villagers. These benefit to people in the digital age that grow with technology and get a lot of information. But these are the causes of problems to customers who follow and indulge in information. They lack of awareness to consider them. To apply the details of Kalama Sutta to Thai present society is very important. It is to support their beliefs for considering everything with mindfulness and wisdom. If they conflict on information they are able to apply this sutta in order to support their belief before consuming information. It is to perform the right view and behave in the right faith. When they have the right view they are able to build a society of the right view as well. For this reason, it will be a cooperative society of faith and wisdom which has the reason before believing. People who follow and apply this sutta they will live in a technological society happily.
