Guidelines for Promoting and Developing Products for Export of Shallots in Sisaket Province

This research aimed to 1) study the current status of entrepreneurs who were successful in exporting shallots in Sisaket Province and 2) study the guidelines for promoting and developing shallot products in Sisaket Province to meet standards. This research is a mixed-method research. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 key informants and questionnaires with a sample of 50 people. Qualitative data were content analysis. The quantitative data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, and standard deviation, and presented descriptively. The research results found that: 1) The current situation of entrepreneurs who have been successful in exporting shallots in Sisaket Province has a customer database of the original group being leading department stores, large restaurants and large hotel businesses have been partners for many years and export with the same operators who are major players in the shallot market. 2) Guidelines for promoting and developing shallot products in Sisaket Province to meet standards. It was found that shallot products meet GAP safety standards, which is an improvement in product standards and prices that made this results in a large export volume and a guideline for promoting and developing shallot products in Sisaket Province, with the overall level being at a high level (=4.22, SD.=.708). When considering each aspect, it was found that in terms of the quantity of shallot exports, the price was most appropriate for the quality. (=4.72, SD.=.706) . Next, the price of shallot products is at a high level. (=4.48, SD.= .665). In terms of marketing promotion, it is at a high level. (= 4.16, SD.= .697). In terms of processed shallot products, it is at a high level. (=4.14, SD.= .751). The development and promotion of shallot technology is at a high level. (=4.08, SD.= .721). It was also found that entrepreneurs have increased demand for the export volume of shallots both domestically and internationally.
