Principles of Karma for Modern People
Main Article Content
Abstract
This review aims to analyze and explain the application of the concept of “Karma for Modern People” based on Buddhist principles, using the framework of Paticcasamuppada (dependent origination) to explain the interrelated chain of causes and conditions
underlying the arising and results of karma
The findings indicate that karma can be classified into past karma and present karma, as well as individual and collective karma, all of which significantly influence human life. Karmic consequences may manifest in both short-term and long-term forms, including in the present life or across lifetimes, depending on the supporting conditions. Therefore, the concept of karma can be applied in modern society to enhance understanding of causality, encouraging mindful living, ethical responsibility, and conscious decision-making
