Factors Affecting the Success of Ban Wang Kum Production Savings Group, Bang Rakam Subdistrict, Bang Rakam District, Phitsanulok Province

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) examine the level of success of Ban Wang Kum Production Savings Group; 2) investigate the factors affecting its success; and 3) propose guidelines for its development. A mixed-methods research design combining quantitative and qualitative approaches was employed. The quantitative component covered all 291 members of Ban Wang Kum Production Savings Group, while the qualitative component involved eight purposively selected key informants. The research instruments were a questionnaire and an interview form. Quantitative data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis using the Enter method, while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. 
The findings showed that: 
1) the overall level of success of the group was high (µ = 4.01, Ơ = 0.60)
2) participation (β = .257, p < .001) and committee leadership (β = .297, p < .001) significantly affected the group's success at the .05 level, and the four predictors jointly explained 26.0% of the variance (R² = .260)
3) the development guidelines comprised four areas: study visits and training, technology development, savings promotion and support, and clear and rigorous rules and regulations
